Karelian Bear Dogs, Nigerian Dwarf Goats and Rescue Animals

Our Karelians are raised in NJ in our home and not in a kennel. They are loving, loyal and protective family companions. We feel it is important to preserve this breed as they provide a great service as a life long companion and protector. Our Karelians are handled daily by myself and my children ages 3 and 7. Our pups are well socialized with people and other animals. I am a certified Animal Control Officer with many years of experience in animal handling and training.

Karelian Bear Dogs are working dogs. They require a lot of exercise and love nothing more than being outdoors with their family. Although primarily an outdoor dog, they prefer to stay close to us no matter whether we are inside or out.

Karelians are extremely intelligent. That along with their strenght and agility allow them to chase off even the largest of Carnivores(Grizzly Bear).

They are quite often used for hunting bear, moose,elk,squirrel and birds.
